Turkey Trot 2007

We made our way to Dallas on Thanksgiving morning for the Turkey Trot. Reid was plenty bundled - luckily it didn't get as cold as I had thought it would. I think all of the DFW metroplex was at the Turkey Trot! It was so crowded. Supposedly there were around 50,000 people there. Once the "race" started it took us 12 minutes just to get from where we were standing to the starting line to begin the 3.1 mile walk. We had a great time in our walk, and at Mile 2 we took a right when all the other trotters took a left, and we finished early (we had walked about a mile from my sister's apartment instead of driving to get to the race, and we still had to walk back.) So, we ended up doing more than the required 3.1 miles even though it wasn't on the planned path. It was a great way to work up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner! (and work off some of he calories - ok, maybe we just walked off a few bites of dessert, but I'll take what I can get!)

Made it back to Britt's apartment, and we're so happy that there's hot cocoa!
