Goodbye Family Room

Matt has configured a little "prison" if you will for Reid in our family room. I'll admit, I am actually enjoying it and I've had to get over the fact that it's not very attractive, but if it keeps me from following little man all over the house, I'll take it. The only thing is if I'm in the kitchen and he's in his, let's call it, Reid's Space, I can't make eye contact otherwise he's like a little puppy at the gate looking at me with those sad eyes and whining. I can just leave him in there and get things done! (well, alright, I can list everything I need to do, and think about doing them...) So, Playgroups, get excited because when it's at my house we can put the babes in there, and maybe actually get to have a whole conversation instead of chasing the kiddos! :)

In the picture of the whole family room, please disregard the fireplace decorations - that is not how I normally have it. The Christmas garland is still up, and the candlesticks on the hearth go somewhere else-they're just there for the moment...

Patrolling the gates

Reid tried to get water from the "bath" faucet the other night. It was so funny! It's just so easy to give him a bath in the sink. I keep saying that we're going to move him to the tub, but the sink just works perfectly right now! Also, in the picture it hadn't filled up with water yet...he doesn't just sit in an empty sink.

I love that he patrols the gates! I think when you have kids you have to let go and know that your house won't look like it belongs on HGTV! Ours sure doesn't! I can't believe he is walking already-what a big boy!
