I know!!! These boys!! I put Blake in time out today and when I went to get him, he was gazing out the window and happily pointing at something. Note to self: Move Pack & Play away from window and close shutters for a more effective time-out. :)
Well, I put Carter in time out for the first time yesterday and he cried, and then proceeded to do the exact thing he was in time out for again..........3 more times- what do you do about that?!?

Ha! Isn't this true!?!? I never realized how hard discipline would be!
How did you get him to stay there? And at least Reid doesn't have someone to help rescue him. Discipline is becoming a big problem in our house.
That was about his 3rd or 4th time-out in a 5 minute time span, and the 1st two times, every time he would get up I would say, "No, sit on your bottom" and sit him back down. I just so happened to get a picture of him while he was sitting! (probably because he didn't mind being in time out and thought it was fun!) Discipline IS a lot harder than I thought it would be!

Yeah, Wyatt is clueless about time outs too. I don't know what we're supposed to do. Anyone else having any luck?
I'm a big believer in Jim Fay.. Love and Logic. He has GREAT ideas when it comes to toddlers. I used it with Abby and now I am having to refresh my memory with Maggie. Hey, it's worth a try (o: By the way, Reid is adorable in time-out!
Time out is still not very effective at our house. I think it takes a sensistive child for it to work really well- a child that gets their feelings hurt when their mom is mad... that is not my child! You will just have to keep trying AND eventually you'll have other options. We take TV away or a toy away for the day- something that disupts HER fun. GOOD LUCK. I'd love to tell you it gets easier...they do get to where they understand the whole thing more and at least that helps!

We did time-outs in the pack n play (after many failed attempts the other way) until he was old enough to stay put. I was hesitant at first, but our pediatrician recommended it. And it worked wonders! After a couple times, I only had to threaten time-out and he would stop. Of course, he had to have "refreshers" every now and then. Eventually, he could do time-outs pretty much anywhere without the PnP.
