Look What I Found!!!

I had Reid on his tummy to show Matt how he can roll from stomach to back (which he did twice yesterday, but hasn't done since) when I looked back to find him sucking on his thumb cuddling the burp cloth (because it's so cuddly??)! He has not shown any interest in sucking on any one of his fingers - it's usually his fist, so I found this very surprising and cute! We'll see if it lasts.

The Boys Club

Reid and I love getting together with our friends! I think the moms have just as much fun as the babies - ok, maybe the moms have a little bit more fun! It always makes me think of the Tostitos commercial where the moms are talking and the babies are just sitting in their infant carriers. But, as the babies get older they will be such great friends and will have fun playing together, and in the meantime, their moms can enjoy not having to chase them around!

4 Months So Far

Reid's 4th month has already been a busy one! We had his 4 month appointment and Reid weighed almost 15 pounds, and was almost 27 inches. He's average in his weight and head circumference, but above average in height. The pediatrician thinks he will be a tall boy - we hope so! He took his shots like a champ, but had a mild reaction to them the next day. He hasn't been sick yet, but we had a taste of how sad it is when your little baby doesn't feel well! The doctor also told us to start rice cereal 2 times a day. I have to base if we'll have rice cereal or not that day on Reid's disposition at the time - if he's happy then the rice cereal works great, but if he's just so hungry, he does not want the rice cereal! It's also really funny because he wants to hold the spoon. Also in this 4th month Reid met his other great-grandfather, Big Bob. We all went to eat at Sammy's - my FAVORITE barbecue place. And, FINALLY Reid has started sleeping through the night! (...I don't want to jinx it...) He'll do 8-10 hours. And the best piece of news for last, Reid's friend has arrived! Tanner Mark Wilson was born on Sunday, July 15 to proud parents Kara and Shane Wilson - I'll have pictures soon.

It was so fun getting together for a mother/daughter dinner and celebrating Carrie's birthday! Reid was the honorary male, but he loves getting all the female attention!

Longview (plus a new 'do)

We went to Longview this past weekend to visit Reid's Granna, Granddaddy, Uncle Toby, Aunt Tracy and cousin Natalee. They are going to be so cute together as they grow up! Natalee is only 3 months older, so they're close in age. They noticed each other a little more than last time. I also went and got a haircut, and my instructions to my hairstylist were trendy and chic but that doesn't take a long time to fix. I have very limited time to get ready before Reid gets tired of just watching me and is ready to be held! I never knew I could get ready so fast - well, fast for me.

I just had to add what they would be saying if they could talk!

"Ohhh - that is what those rings are for! I must get some of those delicious treats."

"Since I'm older, I'll be taking that passy from you."

"Don't even think about it Cuz! I'll just push your head forward."

"Ok, what the heck? Why am I sitting and you're standing?"

4th of July

Reid's first 4th of July was pretty much like any other day for him - but we sure had fun dressing him in red, white and blue! I just wish I had a little flag for him to hold (oh shoot, I just remembered - I have one in the front yard that I could have used!) Oh well...I may have to stage another "4th of July" picture. My family came over for a hamburger cook-out and then they all went out on the boat. My mom and I stayed behind with Reid and we went up to the Neiman Marcus Last Call at the Allen Outlets...didn't find anything though.

So Loved

Reid is the first grandchild on my side of the family and a close second on Matt's side, so he gets dearly loved and spoiled by everyone! I'm so glad that he will grow up close to his Granna and Granddaddy, Mimi and Pops, Aunt Bibby, Aunt CoCo, and also to his great-grandparents Nana and Papa, and Big Bob and Granny Boo.
