Firsts

What a weekend we had!! Not only is Reid experiencing "firsts," but I am too! I had my first night away from him since he was born -actually I haven't been away from him for more than 5 hours, so this was a big night. One of my good friends, Heather, had her bachelorette party over the weekend - it was a fun weekend event, but I just made it out on Friday night. We met at Joe T. Garcia's in Forth Worth, and went to a bar afterward that had a live band, and then back to the hotel for lots of yummy munchies and a shower for Heather. If I thought I would have a night of sleep, I should have known better! We didn't get to sleep until 4:30, but I had such a wonderful time hanging out with friends, laughing, eating, dancing and celebrating that it was all worth it. I can't wait until Heather and Tyler's wedding in December! How did Reid do you ask? Oh, poor thing, cried from midnight until 3 am when he finally took a bottle (this was his first time to wake up and not have Mama there to nurse him). But, when he awoke the next morning at 7:30 he was all coos and giggles, so all's good! We stayed all day Saturday and that night at my parent's house which was nice since I was exhausted and so I got to rest. On Sunday my mom and I took Reid to the park for the first time and he loved it! He loved watching all the kids play, and he enjoyed the swing. I can't believe how different it will be in a year when he will actually be running around with all the kids (and I'll be thinking back to how easy it was just a year ago when he was not mobile!)

It looks like you had a fab time out in Ft. Worth! Love it and I'm glad you were able to party it up! Reid looks like he loved the swing.
