Christmas Traditions

One of my favorite things about the Christmas season are traditions! I'm so excited to start traditions with my new family of 3 that will stay around until our kids are grown. In my family, our traditions are that we always go to the Neiman Marcus buffet at the Zodiac room, and on Christmas Day we wake up early and do gifts, and then meet my cousins and grandparents for a fancy buffet lunch (yes, I've realized that our traditions revolve around food...) I want to start new family traditions for Reid. What traditions do you and your family have that you treasure? One tradition that I have started with my friends Kara and Brittney is going to a paint your own pottery place and we'll have the kids paint a plate and those plates will be our Christmas dishes. This year we just got our boys' footprints and painted them ourselves.

I can't wait to learn about your traditions and maybe adopting them into our family!

Click here to see Reid's photo op with Santa at Neimans. We got a much better reaction out of him than at the other Santa visit! (But again, so tired, so he couldn't even muster a smile! Why is he tired? Oh, just see the post titled "Help!!!")

What about a tradition that doesn't involve money and something so fancy. Try serving.

Love the plate idea! That will be so special to have. :) One thing I thought sounded neat was to save all of the Christmas cards you receive and pick one each night at dinner or bedtime to pray for that family. After you go through all of them, you start over. I'll be thinking of more fun traditions ... I look forward to seeing what other NICE people have to say!

Hey Girl, I had so much fun making plates with you & I am so excited about this tradition! You & your sweet family are so kind & have such special traditions- I agree with Pops- someone definitely has a chip on thier shoulder! Something else we are doing is making a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas Day- this is something that Tanner will be able to help me with in a few years. I just want to instill that "Christ is the reaason for the season!" I can't wait to hear what others have to say, too! Love ya!
