Mexico Get Away

We had a FABULOUS time in Nuevo Vallarto (next to Puerto Vallarto) which is located on the Pacific ocean side of Mexico. We stayed at Vallarta Pallace, an all-inclusive resort. All-inclusives are just the way to go!! This particular resort had great food, drinks, and excellent service. We went with some friends, Tyler and Heather Johns, and Jason and Melanie Henderson. Jason, Tyler and Matt all work for Edward Jones and were also fraternity brothers at Baylor. The trip was so much more fun going with these friends! We had the best time together. While Matt and I missed Reid, it was so nice to be able to relax! I finished a book, a couple of magazines, and made it halfway through another book! Here's a little of what we did each day.

Thank you so much to Mimi and Pops and Granna and Granddaddy for taking care of Reid! He had such a fun time hanging out with his grandparents and I think he got a little used to getting all the attention!!!

Monday - This was our traveling day. Going to Mexico is such an easy flight! Can't beat 2 1/2 hours! When we arrived, we unpacked, walked around the hotel, and then went to an Edward Jones "arrival dinner."

Tuesday - The guys had their business meeting, and we girls had our spouse meeting. I always like those because we get to meet everybody else who is on the trip. We were all finished around lunch time, so we ate lunch and just spent the day on the beach. Matt was very happy to be able to play sand volleyball (which he played for about 3 hours everyday!), so that's what the guys did that afternoon.

Wednesday - Just hung around the hotel pool and layed out on the beach. The weather was absolutely perfect laying out weather! It was sunny all week with no clouds in the sky.

Thursday - Tyler, Heather, Matt and I went on a zipline tour through the trees. At the highest point we were 600 feet above ground! Since I'm afraid of heights, I was glad when the tour was over. It was very exhilerating and such a rush, but I don't think I'll be going on any more ziplines. The afternoon was spent doing our favorite thing: laying out (the girls) and volleyball (the guys). This night was probably the most fun! We began our evening at the Japanese restaurant at the hotel, starting our meal with sushi. Wonderful - so good! Next came our main course, and then dessert. Dinner lasted about 2 hours, and then we moved into a lounge area where a band was playing. We had such a fun time hanging out and laughing with our friends!

The sushi was yummy!!

Having fun after dinner

Friday - The usual sunning/volleyball day; we also went to a local market and picked up gifts for our family.

Saturday- Last day, so sad. Nothing new during the day - just got some last little bit of sun. We had the Edward Jones Farewell dinner that night, but we only had "appetizers" because there was still one more restaurant that we had not eaten at, so we ate our dinner there that night.

Sunday - Traveling home. Reid was asleep when we got home, so we had to wait until Monday morning to see him. That was the best!! Matt didn't go to work until after Reid woke up and he got to play with him for a little bit. Now that we're back, we have jumped head first into our routine! No easing back into things when there's a toddler involved! But, I'm rejuvenated and ready for our ordinary days.
