What a Storm!!

Wow! Last night was scary! If you live or were in North Texas on the night of April 9, then you know what I'm talking about. Matt and I woke with a start around 4 a.m. to the sounds of extremely high winds (come to find out they were about 80-85 mph). Matt immediately told me to get Lilly and get in the closet. He went upstairs to check on Reid. It was a lot louder upstairs than down, but the wind didn't seem to be blowing against the window in his room to bust it as it was in our master bedroom windows. I left the closet and went to our family room to turn on the TV; Matt noticed that we were at the end of the storm so we debated waking Reid. We didn't want to wake him up needlessly! We decided against it because the winds were already dying down. Amy and I were texting at 4:15 this morning finding out how each other was doing! (We live in the same neighborhood.) The next morning we went oustide to find part of our fence blown onto our neighbor's house! Now I have to take Lilly outside with her leash on so she doesn't run away. I hope Amy took pictures of her yard - most of their fence is gone! Her husband had to go retrieve parts of it from neighbors' yards. We were so lucky though- the neighborhood next to ours, about a quarter of a mile away, got it worse. They had windows blown out, roofs gone, trampolines gone through roofs or in other yards, and chimneys busted. Although, I think our neighborhood kids were happy - school was canceled because the electricity was out and never came on! Hopefully last night will be the extent of bad storm weather for this season. On the positive side, we have a child who could literally sleep through a tornado! (I know we didn't have a tornado, but it was as loud as one). Reid amazingly slept right through and didn't wake up until 7:30 the next morning. Ignorance is bliss! :)

OMG! I'm glad you are all ok, but sad about your fence. Maybe you should tie your patio furniture down with cinder blocks ;o) LOL!

Actually I've been wanting to get rid of our patio furniture, so this might be a good excuse! :)

Your blog is so cute. Did you design the header, or have someone design it? Kudos!
